Veteran Financial Technology Executive from NYFIX, Warburg Pincus, Radianz, Reuters and Instinet, to Lead Financial Intelligence and Internet-Monitoring Firm
New York, NY (January 15, 2008) – Monitor110, Inc., a financial intelligence and real-time Internet monitoring firm, today announced the appointment of Brennan Carley as Chief Executive Officer. An accomplished financial technology executive who has spent the last 22 years at the center of the electronic trading movement, Carley brings a wealth of management experience to the new post. As the CEO of Monitor110, Carley is responsible for expanding the firm’s business throughout the investment marketplace. Carley will lead the charge to empower financial professionals to unlock the alpha-generating potential of alternative information, including online news, blogs, message boards and deep-web data, and to find new ways to analyze and monetize traditional information such as SEC filings, earnings call transcripts and mainstream news.
“Information arbitrage is the next frontier in financial markets, and Brennan is in an ideal position to harness this paradigm shift,” said the Chairman of Monitor110’s Board, Roger Ehrenberg. “He has both the killer instinct and real world experience in building the technical, operational, and corporate infrastructure that is necessary to take our innovative technology-based services to Wall Street.”
“I’m thrilled to welcome Brennan to Monitor110’s best-in-class team of finance, technology and information industry professionals,” said Jeff Stewart, Monitor110 founder. “With his broad experience across many disciplines in the financial technology business, Brennan brings an unmatched skill set and a true innovator’s perspective to this breakthrough business of helping investors access, analyze and profit from alternate sources of information.”
Carley, 46, was previously Chief Strategy Officer and Global Head of Business Operations at NYFIX, an electronic trading solutions company. He joined NYFIX from private equity firm Warburg Pincus, where he served as Entrepreneur in Residence. Prior to that, Carley served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at Radianz, a financial markets network provider he co-founded while working at Reuters PLC where he was Senior Vice President of Network Strategy. Before joining Reuters, Carley was Senior Vice President and Head of Information Technology at the Instinet Corporation. He began his career at IBM, where he held a number of posts straddling both computer programming and marketing disciplines, principally focused on the financial markets.
“Discerning actionable financial insight from unstructured data is the most exciting frontier of the financial markets right now,” said Carley. “Monitor110 seeks to redefine the financial intelligence business, and I look forward to helping the company tap into this rapidly growing and lucrative market.”
Carley received a BA in economics, graduating Magna Cum Laude from New York University and completed graduate work at Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Carley is an active member of various professional and community organizations, and sat on the board of directors for Yipes Enterprise Services until December 2007, when Yipes completed a sale to Reliance Communications. He resides with his family in Bronxville, NY.
