Enterprise software veteran to head technology development for prominent mobile and tablet advertising company
NEW YORK (May 30, 2013) – Medialets, the essential advertising platform for mobile and tablets, announced today the appointment of Alan F. Nugent as Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, Nugent will be tasked with overseeing the development of Medialets’ third-party ad serving and rich media platform for mobile and tablets. He will be instrumental as Medialets continues its mission to enable high-value premium mobile advertising while also reducing the complexity that gets in the way of mobile success.
Nugent brings with him over three decades of experience leading technology development in the enterprise software industry. Most recently, he served as the Chief Executive and Chief Technology Officer at Mzinga, Inc. a leader in the development and delivery of cloud-based solutions for big data, real-time analytics, social intelligence and community management. Prior to Mzinga, Nugent served as the executive vice president and Chief Technology Officer at CA, Inc. where he was responsible for setting the strategic technology direction for the company. Before his time at CA, Inc. Nugent was senior vice president and CTO of Novell, where he was the innovator behind the company’s moves into open source and identity-driven solutions. For American Reinsurance, he served as CIO where he was responsible for the company’s global technology infrastructure. As CTO for Xerox, he led the migration to object-oriented software engineering and agile development practices. Earlier in his career, he founded three startup companies and began his journey at HP.
“We’re thrilled to have Al on board. As an enterprise software industry veteran, he brings a deep and actionable understanding of what it takes to succeed in large-scale technology development,” said Eric Litman, CEO and founder of Medialets. “His expertise will be integral as we continue to build out innovative technology and services for our customers and ultimately support the shift of media dollars to mobile.”
“Medialets stands out for its ability to address the mobile and tablet advertising industry’s most formidable challenges in order to provide market-leading solutions that deliver measurable value for premium brands, advertisers and publishers,” said Nugent. “What most attracted me to the company was the significant opportunity to build a media-independent, enterprise software business for the advertising industry. I couldn’t be more excited to join the team of game-changers at Medialets and help shape the future of mobile advertising.”
