Paul is a Venture Advisor at Gotham Ventures and enjoys identifying new technologies that have the potential to transform their industries. As both a physician and computer scientist, Paul’s main areas of focus are healthcare, technology and software.
Paul enjoys teaching and mentoring new startups. In addition to helping launch an early-stage technology accelerator in Tel Aviv in partnership with Microsoft, Paul has been a mentor at the Blueprint Health accelerator in New York for several years. In both roles he has been involved in coaching early-stage companies as they refine and grow their businesses. He has also held teaching positions at several New York metro area medical schools.
Prior to joining Gotham Ventures, Paul was Vice President of Clinical Informatics at Becton Dickinson (NYSE:BDX), a Fortune 500 medical device company. Before that, he was Chief Medical Officer at Cerner Corporation (NASDAQ:CERN) and Chief Medical Informatics Officer at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Paul received his BA in Computer Science from Columbia University, his MD from the New York University School of Medicine and an MHA from Seton Hall University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine. He resides in West Orange, NJ with his wife Cathy, his son and his dogs. A self-proclaimed geek, when not working, Paul can be found reading, often with a nice cigar in hand.
