Somerset, NJ – Lumeta Corp., which provides network management and security software for enterprises and government agencies, appointed David Hickey as president and chief executive.
Hickey most recently served as chief executive officer at Incurrent Solutions Inc., a provider of online credit card banking systems, from 2002 to 2004. Hickey also previously held the chief operating officer position at Quality Systems & Software Inc.
Hickey replaces Lumeta chief executive officer Tom Dent, who is transferring to the position of board chairman. Hickey characterized the transition as an amicable “expansion of the management team” and said that he and Dent have “complimentary skill sets.”
Lumeta’s flagship IPsonar platform collects network intelligence on internal and external connections to the network. It enables customers to deal with risks that threaten the performance of normal business operations.
Founded in 2000, Lumeta is based in Somerset, New Jersey. The company raised over $10 million in a Series B round in September, 2003. Participants included RBC Technology Ventures Inc., Draper Fisher Jurvetson, DFJ Gotham, meVC, New Venture Partners LLC and Wachovia Strategic Ventures. Hickey said the company has the cash it needs, and no Series C round is currently planned.
